Joel Stead established the Leadership Lab at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and is involved in several philanthropic endeavors. He served in multiple leadership positions during his 18-year tenure at Seagate Technology, a leading innovator of mass-capacity data storage, including global sales, marketing, and customer service. While at Seagate, he helped guide the company through a public offering. He currently serves on the board of directors/advisors for 5 companies encompassing a range of business sectors.
Joel’s passion for travel and international business began with his high school experience in Brussels. He went on to attend the University of Minnesota, Drury University, and the Thunderbird School of Global Management for his bachelor’s and graduate degrees in business and international relations.
Joel has lived in Paris and Singapore, and now makes his home in Phoenix, AZ, and his family includes five daughters and a son.
